Goshen College Connecting Corridor
Goshen, Indiana

To help promote more intermingling of the underclass students in three existing separate dormitories, Goshen College decided to build a new four-story building to connect the dormitories.

Of concern were the tight floor-to-floor heights of the existing dormitories. The design team found precast
hollowcore planking was the perfect solution due to its span to depth ratio, strength, durability, speed of construction, low sound transmission qualities and finished ceiling appearance.

Precaster: Strescore, Inc.
Contractor: Casteel
Architect: Mathews-Purucker-Anella Architects

Technical Note: 6” Corefloor hollowcore panels, 14,500 sq.ft. in 4 floors
