On-time Arrivals at Pittsburgh Airport

A well designed airport means more than easy arrivals, departures and transfers. A practical, yet appealing, facility is an excellent way to bolster economic development and showcase a community. The 12,080 acre, $1.06 billion Pittsburgh International Airport includes several built-in expansion sites to accomodate the 32 million passengers a year. Two terminals were designed including a 440,000 square-foot “landside” building for ticketing, baggage handing and passenger pick-up; and a 1.2 million square-foot “airside” building for boarding and departure.

Sidley Precast produced an enclosed precast prestressed parking garage which holds 17,40 cars and a 1,340-foot enclosed moving sidewalk connecting the garage and the landside terminal.
The precast concrete, from Sidley Precast, allowed for special architectural elements to be created efficiently providing an attractive, cutting-edge airport for Pittsburgh to capitalize on.
