Fabcon helped general contractor Opus North Corp. meet the tight construction schedule for Roundy’s 1.1 million square-foot warehouse and distribution center by creating a fast and cost-efficient erection process. The Fabcon PCI Certified Erection crew installed the precast panels and enclosed the first half of the building, which includes 550,000 square feet of dry storage, in less than three weeks. The second half, which includes separate cooler and freezer storage areas, was enclosed using standard, insulated cooler panels and then encapsulated using 9-inch VersaCoreTM precast panels to provide a more aesthetically pleasing and durable exterior finish.
Roundy’s selected a combination of exposed and non-exposed aggregate finishes combined with a uniform rib texture. A variety of individual accent panels were also added, forming an attractive, economical and unique exterior design.

Technical Notes:
• The Roundy’s distribution center features approximately 327,000 square feet of Fabcon’s 9-inch and 12-inch VersaCore™ precast wall panels.
• Fabcon crews erected 11,000 sqaure feet per day (30 panels) to stay ahead of the construction schedule.
